AREA CHAMPIONSHIP AND GOLD CHAMPIONSHIP SHOWS
COLOUR LABEL CODE
RED Best of Colour Any Age
YELLOW Best of Colour Any Age Opposite Sex
BLUE Best of Colour Young Bird
GREEN Best of Colour Young Bird Opposite Sex

JUDGING ORDER
1. All classes will be judged and the winners placed in the appropriate colour line up under condition 2.
2. A judge will judge the best of his colour from first to last and will mark the cage labels accordingly and will note the best of colour (label to be marked B.O.C.) and the best opposite sex to the best of colour in both the Any Age and Young Bird colour classes. The appropriate coloured spots should be affixed to the four cages.
3. When all the best of colour judging has been completed, the five major awards of the B.S. should be selected in the following order:
(a) Best Any Age in Show
(b) Best Any Age Opposite Sex in Show
(c) Best Young Bird in Show
(d) Best Young Bird Opposite Sex in Show
(e) Best Budgerigar in Show.
The first four awards of the above should, in each case, be selected from a line-up of 25 birds (or fewer if some colour classes are void of entries). The selection of best in show should then be made from the winners of Best Any Age and Best Young Bird.
4. After the section specials have been judged. Certificates of merit should be awarded to the Best Novice Any Age and Young Bird, the Best Beginner Any Age and Young Bird and the Best Junior Any Age and Young Bird which have not won a Challenge Certificate at the show.
5. On any occasion where a best opposite sex in show is scheduled, it should be selected from the winners of best Any Age Opposite Sex and Best Young Bird Opposite Sex to the Best in Show.
6. Where B.S. Associated Specialist Society patronage is awarded (i.e. CBBA, VBC, etc) such awards should be taken from the colour rundown which should be judged from first to last.
7. Upon completion of judging it will be necessary to ensure that the proposed certificate winners are wearing an official ring purchased from the Budgerigar Society through the General Secretary. If a proposed certificate winner is not wearing such official ring or belongs to a person who is not a member of or who has not nominated B.S. then the next best eligible exhibit in that colour should be considered for the certificate. Once a bird has been given an award of Best in its Colour or a B.S. Challenge Certificate, it cannot thereafter be beaten by a bird of its colour for any other B.S. award.
8. Positions allocated within a colour line up can not be reversed when judging sections.
