There is a suggestion that non-approved budgerigar show cages are being imported into the UK. Please note that approved show cages will have the Show Cage Manufacturer (SCM) registration number stamped on the underside base and will have the white BS ivorine label on the front rail. Members are only permitted to purchase ivorine labels in very small quantities to carry out cage repairs.
Non-approved cages require the manufacturer to submit a sample cage to the BS Show Cage Inspector and to pay the SCM registration fee.
