Finance Update
Following the meeting of the GC Budget Sub-group, the following recommendations were made and accepted unanimously by the General Council on 15th April 2021.
- The unapproved accounts, which will be submitted for membership approval at the next AGM (subject to Government guidelines) will be published in the July 2021 edition of The Budgerigar.
- Following consideration of member’s suggestions of a free membership year and taking into account the Society’s operating costs of circa £80k per year, membership fees will be held at the 2021 levels, with the joining fee remaining at £7.50.
- Following the 8% increase made by Royal Mail, overseas postal surcharge for members will increase by £1 to £18 for Europe and £23 for Rest of the World.
- An agreement with the ring maker has allowed the Society to offer rings at the current price of £10.60 per 20 for 2022, with no price increase. Following member’s feedback on the delay some experienced in receiving their initial supply of 2021 rings, an additional next day delivery service will be offered for 2022 ring orders at a cost of £10 per order. This is the charge by the ring maker and the Society will simply pass this on to members. Regular postal charges will increase by £0.20 per order to become, UK – £2, Europe – £4, Rest of the World – £5.
