Bird Gatherings & Shows – 2019

The current information from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) for the running of Bird Gatherings including Shows and Sales is noted below.
The organiser must notify APHA by email (see below) at least 7 days before the event is being held with the following information:-
Date of the bird gathering.
Location including full postal address including post code of the bird gathering.
Types and numbers of birds expected.
The purpose of the gathering (eg bird show and/or sale).
The contact name, address, phone number(s) including mobile (if you have one) and email address. Also include an alternative number as well, if possible.

APHA will advise the local authority about the gathering.

Records must be kept for 3 months after the event and these should include the name, address and contact number of anyone moving birds to and from the gathering together with the number and types of birds exhibited and/or sold at the gathering.
